A good news from Dad for me and mom: we are going to Taman Safari 2 (Safari Park) tomorrow (1 October 2009).
Mom and me are so happy because I heard many interesting things outthere. It'd be the first time I'll see many wild animal in a real-world like situation.
You may expect many photos would be taken from tomorrow's trip.
If dad and mom permit me, I'd like to take picture with lions or komodo. I'm doubtful that would be possible.
I hope everything is ok today and tomorrow so I can really enjoy the trip with everyone involved.
What is Taman Safari 2 or Safari Park?
A safari park is a zoo-like commercial tourist attraction where visitors can drive in their own vehicles and observe the wildlife, rather than viewing animals in cages or small enclosures. The main attraction is large animals from Sub-Saharan Africa such as giraffes, lions, rhinoceros, elephants, zebras, and antelope.

A safari park, while larger than a zoo, is usually a very small area compared to game reserves in Africa. For example, African Lion Safari near Cambridge, Ontario, Canada is 750 acres, or 3 square kilometers. For comparison, Lake Nakuru in the Rift Valley, is 168 square kilometers, and a typical large game reserve is Tsavo East, also in Kenya, which encompasses 11,747 square kilometers.
Safari parks often have other associated tourist attractions: golf courses, carnival rides, miniature trains, and gift shops.[1]
In Indonesia, there are only two Safar Park or Taman Safari as we call it. They are Taman Safari 1 and Taman Safari 2.
Taman Safari 1 located in Cibeureum, Cisarua, Bogor, Jawa Barat(West Java). While Taman Safari 2 located in Prigen, Pandaan, Jawa Timur (East Java). It's the Taman Safari 2 that we wanted to visit tomorrow.
How to go to the location of Taman Safari 2?
To reach our park without facing traffic jam you can across the closest alternative road. You have to prepare a little bit more time through this alternative road because you have to pass some cities to reach Taman safari Indonesia II. If you are from Surabaya or Juanda Airport the alternative road that you can pass are Surabaya/Juanda Airport – Waru – Trosobo – Krian – Mojokerto – Mojosari – Gempol – Pandaan – Taman Safari Indonesia II. Or you may able to pass Surabaya/Juanda Airport – waru – Krian – Prambon – Mojosari – Ngoro – Gempol – Pandaan – Taman Safari Indonesia II.[2]
